Hello, another mini neon owner here!! When I got mine someone had modded it (inc changing the paint to amaranth ) so mine doesn't look like a neon anymore. I have kept all the original parts should I want to revert back to original!

that's excellent I will look out for your work!

The Neon's a lovely colour, take the pink stickers off and it does lend its self well to modding....

Looks really smart @Nick!

My blocks going pink! x

Nick, what problems did you have trying to supercharge the mini? I was thinking of going that route with mine?

Here's mine by the way, check out that awesome photoshop of the number plate!

Jason has done a BEAUTIFUL job on my minis bodywork - really just perfect!

And the spray shop she went to also did a spectacular job - as you can see!

All arranged and orgainsed by Jason at The Mini Restoration Company - I haven't had to worry about a thing!

It has been the most hassle free and satisfying experience I have ever had with a garage - I will praise Jason and recommenced him to anyone and everyone!!

And you can quote that!!

Hey!

You know what they say - real men wear pink! I recon you could work it!

I like to think if I won the lottery I would collect Neon's and restore them all back to their former girly awesomeness!

Mini is saved by the Girls (1987)

Some interesting facts on Mini ownership and production at the time.
"From the archive: It’s February 1987, and Rover announces that the Mini was saved from oblivion by positive market research following one of the most famous seasonal car adverts ever run…"

DAILY EXPRESS
By Barry Devney
"The Mini car has won a reprieve – due to the abiding love of women drivers. It was due to be scrapped next month after 27 years. But market research has shown that women are still clamouring for the snappy little vehicle. So much so, that Minis will roll off the production line until at least 1991 and weekly output will rise from 650 a week to 750. Rover Group chairman Mr Graham Day, said research showed that 7 out of 10 Mini buyers are city-dwelling women aged 20 to 39.
“Women treat their Mini cars with affection and have pet, names for them,” said Mr Day

Ha ha! Brilliant!

In real life those minis would have met under the mistletoe, bumped into eachother a little -

Causing the whole front end to cave in and their rear subframes would have snapped due to rot and would be insurance write offs....

Oh I love my car x

I had a number of problems such as fueling issues and eventually the engine wouldn't start again so i stripped it down and went turbo.
