The floor is now DONE (bar sealing and painting obvs!)
I've added all the floor bungs and welded up a few holes that were left by the stud gun:
massive tidy up tomorrow

You have to heat them up with a hot air gun or flamethrower

Looking good james can you paint over those bungs tho? I think i would have painted first and then put in the bungs. ( on my car I just filled the holes, it will never see water anyway ;) )

So, spent the day sortign out the garage and took the car off the spit!
And packed the jig away
Spent some of the evening working on the rear loom:
That little lot is to add central locking and a boot light to the rear loom. The connector above has an added extra earth that runs to where the boot light will be, so the alarm switch also turns the light on.

Do they come with the sealant on them then you melt it in place? I was going to cut round discs of steel then weld them in place, don't think I'll bother now

I must remember to dig out those fuel hoses and check for stickers

They do indeed. Melted vs Unmelted:

Not much more done. Got the door skin prepped to hopefully weld on tomorrow...
The door gaps aren't quite there yet, so will spend time on them
Almost finished taping up the rear loom. Added my 3 extra cables directly into the current wiring. Put it back on the car to test lengths etc for the new 3 way connector:
Not looking forward to doing the front loom...

Well that week didn't go acording to plan, managed to do my back in sitting down into a sofa on Saturday morning...
Anyway, back on with it!
Did some more fixes to the wiring loom. This time in the nearside front wing. When the wings were changed last time there were some bodges done, so sorted them out:
All fixed and ready to go! Got a few more bits to do further up the loom as one or two earths have broken.
Time to move onto the door. Prepped the frame ready for a few spot welds:
Then clamped the skin on and tacked it into place with the sport welder. I had a watch of the Heritage video of how they make the doors, and noticed they used a copper block on the skin to stop a pinch make from the spot welder, so made my own solution:
Not too much of a mark on the outside now.
Then it was time to get the skin on!
During the flattening of the edges the whole bloody door slid of and fell onto the ground! Its dented the front at the top and scratched the rest. Not too happy with myself, but nothing that can't be fixed...
Stuck the door back on for a final look:
Seems fine to me.
Need to add the welds to the seams at the top front and back, but that will wait for another day...

Wow, been away from this for too long! Been working solidly for a month on some new TV shows.
Anyway, decided to rebuild the gearbox:
Nice clean box
Big box of bits that need cleaning and rebuilding
One rebuild kit from Guessworks
And as far as I've got!
Need some more tools...
