After failing his MOT spectacularly he has been in the hands of the slark brothers for about two weeks. Wheel bearings and much welding needed to be done.

Ian slark near bristol gave him a new passenger side sill, 2 new subframe mounts, a suspension mount, several patches in wheel arches, and a new engine bracket. He then managed to get monty through an MOT with just one advisory. All for 600 quid, and from what i can see, he's done a very good job.

So a picture of my first new panel

Since i last put a few pictures up here, i have taken the greyscale union flag off the roof, it was starting to peel and i wasnt a massive fan. I have since added a lovely roof rack which i've sprayed a nice new color.

I also savaged an old set of speakers i found and they are the perfect size to put where the air vents are, so they have been blocked off and the actual vents used to house the speakers, the larger speakers have been moved from under the rear seat to the parcel shelf.

Looks good, is that an oversill they've fitted?

Its a full sill gents, i went and saw the car when it was in a sorry state on its side and a gaping hole where the sill should have been so definately not a cover up. Not sure where they got the replacement panel from but i agree it looks like it could be just an oversill

Sorry if that last post sounded angry, wasnt meant to be. They are proper sills, am fully aware of oversills and the damage they can cause/hide. Both the slark brothers are incredibly professional and they have done a superb job on monty, cannot recommend them enough.

Do make sure there are holes or slots to allow water drainage as per a standard width sill. otherwise you'll be needing more sills sooner rather than later. Glad to see it back on the road.

Saw your car in Ian's garage. Mine was the blue sprite parked indoors :-)

Looks like a job well done. Love the roof rack, my father in law has 2 new ones still in there boxes but he won't sell them. Glad to see another mini back on the road.
