Hi peeps!

My 200 compressor broke down, just when I had do spray a car.

Whats the least tank size / 'pump rate' I'll need to spray a mini comfortably?

cheers!

I think you need at least 50 litre capacity and 7cfm .

It really depends on your spraygun requirements, I use a devilbiss sri pro for most my work as it's fan is large enough for full panel spraying just a little slow compared to a gti pro, advantage is 2.8cfm requirement and less over spray, I however use a clarke se16c100 which can just supply enough air for both this gun and my airfed mask. But if I only needed to feed the gun could easily get away with a 2hp compressor with 50litre tank. A devilbiss gti however would need a 3hp at least to run.

My gun has a 1.5mm nozzle and max nozzle flow rate is 6.5 cfm.

Pressure should be around 4.5 bar.

Does this means it will need 3 litres of air / second , or will it need more like 15 litres / second?

4.5 bar is high for a spraygun, mine only requires 2 bar. 6.5cfm is about 180 lpm so it does work at about 3 litres per second
