Not a massive update, however i've been doing more mapping to the car. Cold start is much better now I've got a better mental grasp of prime fuel, cranking fuel, post start fuel, coolant temp correction fuel etc. It's a horrid balance of all of them to make it start and run on the key like OEM, but i'm getting there! The hot outside air temps are causing the car to pull timing to compensate, so in the future i'll need to get a better chargecooler set up - The inlet air temps are rising to 50 degrees C on full boost (19psi) yet the charge cooler coolant is around 30-35 degrees lower; this means efficiency of the core isn't great.
Anyway. Went for a drive down to Himley hall on the weekend and mapped it up to 20psi, it was wheel spinning from cruise in 4th Set up shop and met a few people from the forum! Thank you to all that came over and said hi! Managed to get 1st in 90s Show and Shine!!

As ever nicely turned out Steve, inspiration to breath life into my Shropshire Cooper.
Thank you, sir!

Finally dialled in rolling anti-lag. Great fun! Over 4k, push the brake test switch on the dash and it holds the rpm where you have it, give the car full throttle and will boost to 14psi, let go of the switch and the car shoots off! Also spits flames
Got the rocker cover and top boost pipe powdercoated in crackle black, added some heat proofing and reflective tape in the affected areas.
Being good mates with Cole at Classic Mini DIY, he sorted me out with his new DBW pedal set up. This has a much stronger spring than the current set up, so makes it drive more OEM.
Time between shows meant i had time to sort the crank oil seal, replace the clutch release bearing and refurb the clutch slave cylinder (was leaking badly).
Then added a DSN oil cap for good measure!
Just before Stanford Hall, converted all the front lights to LED. These were from Classic Car LEDs https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk. The spots are a million times better than the candle power they were pumping out before!
Then made my way down on the sunday. Did a bit of mapping and now have cruise control dialled in too. Great show! Thank you to those that came and said hi, was great meeting you!
So now show season is over, i've got a mapping session at EFI Parts on 4 November, and the front suspension is coming apart as there's a rattle over light bumps thats been present on the car since 2019 that needs addressing

what a bit of kit. doing a turbo myself, nowhere near as neat as this but with gt17 and keeping carb and standard turbo distributor does anyone know of anywhere i can get the thing rolling roaded though places i have contacted near me (west yorks.) want nothing to do with it as not injection and carb tuners due to it being forced induction.

If you're on FB, the Classic Mini Turbo Supercharged group should know of somewhere.

Took the car to the rolling road and had the same issue as before - breaking up over 5500rpm. Dissapointing drive back, however Chris at EFI Parts worked hard to try and find out the issue with me. It's definitely a fuelling issue and on cylinder 1.
Decided to go through the options, but first a health check of the engine. Compression was pretty much 160psi across the board, and leakdown test didn't show any issues either. Moved on to replacing the standard HT leads with a DIY set using low resistance cable, this was much easier than first anticipated.
The engine ran a lot better with just these alone!
Onto the next issue - the DEKA IV injectors have a very direct spray pattern, which for a wet manifold is sub optimal! Replaced the 660cc injectors with a set of Bosch EV14 750cc ones.
Whilst it was apart, checked over the inlet system and saw there was a lip caused by the PTFE plate, this was removed, the manifold was then opened up to match the DBW inlet system. All adapters were also ground back to prevent any issues with air flow.
Back together and fired her up. Car is running a lot better at just warm up and when up to temp. Sadly not had any time to get out and drive it her, but so far, things are looking up!
