....bugger

Luckily its only finger tight!

Lovely work may I say and thank you for sharing.

It takes time and patience to load piccy's up for everyone to see and it appears it's paid off in dividends regarding your fuel lines.

Good luck with the rest of the assembly.

You're welcome!

Its great to have many sets of experienced eyes look over it as I build it up. Also to have loads of similar projects going on with pics I can use as reference during the build!

That's it for a while, waiting on a delivery of fasteners so i'm able to fit the power cable.

Just echoing what Dean said, its great to see project threads on here and I love looking through them. The amount of times looking through pictures has saved me in terms of knowing how things go back together.

Lovely to see the attention to detail you're putting into this.

That's looking good.

I was thinking of alcantara headlining too, yours is the first one I've seen done on a mini.

Where did you get it made?

Thanks Paul

Hi Paul, Optimised Automotive (theyre a trader on here), it was around £300

Thank you for that, I'd been looking on their site and was going to contact them when the time came, nice to see one's been done already and it looks good in the car.

Fantastic project and great work. Every Mini comes alive with its own purpose whether it’s a show queen, road tripper or tarmac melter. Build threads are great to watch it all come together. This is a brilliant one, am more than a touch envious!!!

Thank you! I'm still not sure what catagory mine sits in! I intend to drive the car, but also want to get it to shows, so the bodywork needs to be mint! I've booked it in for wet sanding and machine polishing with a detailing colleague of mine as there are some bits i'm not 100% happy with (too much of a perfectionist).

Trying to get on with the project, however i'm still waiting for parts, and one of the companies I bought stainless fasteners off, sent me the wrong ones :(

I'm glued to this thread. It's great!

Apart from your sad news, of course.

Finally parts are starting to arrive again!

Cracked on with the wiring, trying to figure out again where everything goes  The wiring loom has been re-taped as some of the corrugated plastic had done brittle.

Finally finished the front subframe bar the disks and callipers

R9aFMq5.jpg

Got hold of some closed cell foam and sheets of silent coat. This was heated up on the radiator before applying and went on perfectly.

The floor isn't stuck down here as i'm still working on the wiring loom

C32Iow1.jpg

Last bits of Dynax in the sills

O7GYfQj.jpg

xfSU8zg.jpg

Finally have a set of rear quarter laurels I'm happy with! These are single piece decals like the original ones from rover, not the multi piece vinyl things that seem to be doing the rounds.

KaVsZVD.jpg

Slow collection of parts to fit and the shelves getting less cluttered

VjHWYd8.jpg

Also went flying yesterday and had a bit of an accident. This is what happens when you his a buzzard at 800 feet and 130kts ground speed.

6oRgQgb.jpg

Hopefully a few more bits turn up today and I can get one with fitting the subframes soon!

I imagine the poor Buzzard will have a bit of a headache! - good job it didn't hit the prop.

Would have been better hitting the prop, would have shredded it. Worst case engine stalls but i was within gliding/force landing distance from the airfield (was on the downwind leg of the circuit).

It is! The biggest difference to the car's inner acoustic properties is the closed cell foam, it also acts as a thermal barrier!
