Beginning to get a bit of cabin fever in the house, so did a bit of investigating with the drive train. I'd heard mixed things about fitting vented discs, issues with clearances and some not fitting at all due to the flange O_O  So gave it a go.

Typically I found there was clearance issues with the steering arm. It wasn't much, but with a quick skim on the forging marks with the lap wheel sorted it

Wow. How exciting, being able to start bolting all the shiny bits together. Lambswool gloves, and every tool coated in bubble wrap!

I always felt that when the shell was back in paint that i'd be over the hill and on the way to finishing it. However, from previous experience with past projects, its too easy to rush it now! There's a lot still to work out; boost piping, turbo coolant feed, charge cooler piping, wiring etc. But its those bits i really enjoy!

Ive been really impressed with Steves work, both the pace and quality. Hes been brutely honest about the condition of the car and has tried to save me money where he can.

A bit of an emotional update for me. The shell is finally back! Hertz gave me a luton van instead of the LWB transit i'd asked for, so it dwarfed the car!

Couldn't keep still for very long and got a few bits sorted. Firstly get some Dynax on/in the front subframe!

Side trim and indicators on

Headlight trial fit - I need longer bolts :(

Boot seal on for trimming later, washer bottle in and boot hinges on with stainless fasteners

Lastly, with a bit of tiger seal behind them, the damper mounts were bolted up. A light pinch all round to let the sealant ooze, then kept tightening until torque value.
