Not sure yet. To be honest, the car won't be competing in any concourse competitions due the nature of the mods i'm doing, so i most likely wont bother. Considering moving the VIN plate to the fire wall too, as when I put the intercooler in, you won't see it!

Ahh, yes I know him as that, he sounds like a good contact to have, especially being mids too.

Yeh, it's definitely made the restoration that much easier having his experience on hand!

Another update, but feel i've made a fair bit of progress!
Starting with the MED waterpump pulley - it's now silver, no luminous blue
Then build up the rear subframe!
Changed my mind on some parts for the shell, so Jez is holding on until the parts arrive. Also waiting on my gearbox from Guessworks - He's not answered any emails or facebook messages despite reading them all.

Great project! Just read it start to finish. From the dates I reckon my car left Jez and was followed in by yours.
Most likely! He did say he had one in the garage when I was getting a quote!

Moving on a little further, I seem to be making progress and things coming back together! Jez text me today to say the shell is pretty much ready! Hoping to have that back by the end of next week!
Decided to crack on with the turbo manifold and its mounting to the turbo hot side. First off was to swap the studs from one to the other and drill out the turbo. This seemed to go fine for 3 of the holes, until I found that I can't actually get a nut the other side. What i've done is get a step stud (M10 to M8), will mount it into the turbo, drill out the manifold and put a nut on the other side.
Engine has part of the alternator mount on it now and awaiting the head!
It lives like this most of the time
Got my gearbox! So happy with this, John has done an amazing job!! Removed the windage tray as after the cylinder head arrived, I'll need to mock up the turbo, work out where to drill the drain hole in the gearbox and install it all.
And finally my engine management turned up from Specialist components! Jack was really good on the phone when talking about my spec, they upgraded my injectors from the 440cc to 660cc due to the power I want to run - Free of charge! Also scaled the base map to compensate. My only issue is the loom doesn't have the MAP sensor plug on it like they said it would, so currently awaiting their reply.

No more than around 150bhp/110lbft. The will not be launched and will have a boost restrict in first gear to reduce premature wear.

sounds fine then, although I wouldnt wory too much about the boost restrict in first, its actually 3rd that normally causes the issue, being the tallest it puts the highest load on the 1st motion-layshaft gears ( the ones at the flywheel end that every one assume are 4th...)
