Hi all,

Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase both the upper AND lower dash pads with vinyl covering already attached? I've checked all the major sites and unfortunately I can't seem to track them down. I'm looking for a set in black vinyl.

Cheers,

GK

They are pretty easy to re-cover yourself, you'd be surprised. I re-covered mine, took about a day to do both top and bottom, as dying time is where the time is at. Did them around two years ago and they not showing any signs of peeling away or anything.

Thanks Yams, but the problem is my Mini didn't come with the upper rail and I destroyed the lower one in the process of stripping for paint.

/sigh

I found one! From a 94 Rover. Question is, do you think it will fit my 86?

as Andy said, should fit fine. You can then just re-cover it whatever colour you like. I applied some strong adhesive, stretched the vinyl around the dash and kept it in place with clips all along the edges while it dried, i took care not to stretch it too much so it wouldn't shrink back and break the bond. it's far cheaper and looks more stock than the dash covers you can buy already made.

Do you know if you can spray paint the top and bottom dash rails?

Hi Andy
You can just paint the top and bottom dash rails.
Theres an article on a Polish MK1 in Marchs edition of Mini Magazine with painted dash rails.
Does look mint.
