Hey! Ive been looking at getting some rustoleum for my mini.. but does it keep back the rust?
It's called 'Stops Rust' so yes it does. It also nuetralises any rust you paint it on, but shame on you if you're even considering painting over rust lol.
My uncle painted a boat with rustoleum, 4 years down the line it's covered in algi + barnacles, but not a single spot of flaking or rust anywhere.
So yes., it stops rust as the name suggests.

One thing you should know, the freshly flatted paint may feel a little almost soft in a way, i leave it over night which I *think* allows any last bits of Whitespirit vapour escape, allowing the paint to harden fully. before flatting i leave the paint for two days, though in the summer I could paint in the morning and flat in the evening due to temperature!

Don't mind swapping garages for the winter then?
As mine is a very untoasty, about freezing constantly, with then only warmth is when I accidentally set fire to a pile of rubbish in the corner while grinding.

how to proceed mr retro 10's???
i have filled and sanded my boot lid,
guide coated it,
sanded again to 800grit
let the paint down with thinners
painted the boot
let it dry for 24 hrs,
800 gritted again
painted again,
then what?????
800 grit between each coat????
six coats????
the first two coats went on really nice, mirror finish most pleased, when we get broadband back on, i will get some photos on here
i did, however try a new fangled roller which is suppossed to give a flatter finish, it is covered in a velvet type material and i may have a couple of specs of fibre in the second coat of paint, so may try the foam roller.
managed to down load a pic...top tip never weld in the same room as a painted panel

sand with 800 every two coats, but on the a last two I used 1200 grit, move to 1500/2000 before the final cutting polish and buff up.
The coats are meant to go on VERY thin, almost translucent, this is how the paint hardens to be so impact resistant etc.
looks good mate, don't be scared to flat too much back, it will be lovely and smooth and coverage of this paint is great.
looking good!
