Hi all!

I see a lot of DIY throttle linkages, but can anyoen advice me on what parts I'll need for a 40 dcoe weber throttle linkage?

I found a clip on youtube, but I can 't find the part number/name for the 'quadrant ' in this move :

Could I use this: as replacement for the quadrant? how do I mount it?

http://www.dellorto....PartsectionID=1

I also found this piece of kit, but it seems there isn't any rotational part?

http://www.dellorto....artsectionID=49

All advice is welcome, as 70£ for a linkage is bloody expensive!

If someone made a linkage for his weber, let me know please :)

cheers

ive always used a mangolesti linkage on mine, adjustable and is just so much better than one cobbled together. they never work quite right, either super sensitive or too longer pedal :)    its worth the money!!

Su's dont have those expensive setups with 200 springs and a flux capacitor in it and they work fine..

All you need is a base and a means on connecting a solder less nipple the the throttle spindle and a couple of return springs.

Kind of depends on what fittings you already have on the carb.

yeah.. because all the pivot points have been pre determined by the parts on the carb from standard, webers have a big ole lever thats a direct link to the butterfly spindle.   buy cheap - buy crap.

I got a 'ball' on a leveler atm, but Om wondering now if the pedal travel of the mini will be enough to fully open the throttle? Or will it need amplification? If not I have a setup in mind :) with basically a baseplate and connecting the throttlecable directly to the lever..

If you have a ball then i would say it is kart of a balljoint linkage off a buy able linkage set up.

But all you need is an arm of the correct length.

On advantage of the bought linkages is they seem to take out some strain on the spindle.

So my throttle pedal travel will be enough to open the butterfly fully?

Who knows. It all depends on what you have fitted.

The reason people buy the of the shelf linkages is they don't know, can't or don't have the kit to make something to work.

But I would say that whatever you have on the carb now will be too short or too long.

But first you need to see. And then work out how to attach it to the cable. Then mod it to get the required movement for your pedal movements.

Or just buy a kit for you unsuitable carb.

Pedal travel of a mini should be adequate I heard now.

Ah, the only thing unsuitable is the air filter ;)  WHy do people hate webers? ^^

Who said that?

I have had many many different webers on many many different engines and I would sill not fit one to your engine.
