Also another one about a 4×4 using a second pinion gear and bevel gears, had 4×4 lever next to main lever. That's all I remember about it.

Many thanks for everyone wonderful comments, quite flattering, cheers guys
Absolutely amazing bit of gear Spider. I remember many years ago, an article in a magazine, it might have been the Australian mini experience, showed a white one. Is that the same car?

Many thanks for the kind words, you know, I just made it up as I went along, lots of good AC/DC on the radio at that time!
No, this is not that car. That one- the Prototype - is up for sale, but it's been through a few hands, the last guy did a coff coff restoration on it, however I can see another $20K that needs spending on it. Interestingly, but not surprisingly, the front CW on that one is badly damaged and being what it is, is still in there
and a close up
There are many many other issues with it too. It's claimed to have something like a genuine 250 km (two hundred and fifty only) on the clock, but a quick glance under the bonnet says maybe 100 250 km!
(have a look at the clutch arm for example)
Regrettably, it's not a very honest sale / offer. I did put a good and fair offer to the owner about 18 months ago, when he was in a hurry to off load it as he needed the space. He still has it and my offer (which is the best he's received!) still stands, however, he still does have it! I'm not out to take advantage but likewise, I don't want to be taken advantage of either.

Amazing piece of engineering.
Do you have any more images of the build or engineering drawings?
Would love to undertake the chalenge of building a 4 wheel drive box.

Just occurred to me last night, what rear axle do you use with this set-up Chris? Robin Reliant perhaps?

Fixed that for you. Reliant was the manufacturer, Robin was the model, not the other way around. It annoys me how many people get it the wrong way around.
And the Reliant had a "live" axle so I would guess not.
Phil.
