Just a quick question what's the best time to get there Sunday morning ?

Are you parking up with all the other Minis in CP or parking outside and setting off independantly?  If going inside to join the line, I think the gates open at 0500hrs!!  Any later and you will be at the tail end!!!  Link to the run booklet below (hope it works)

http://www.london-to...-2015-Final.pdf

You will be behind the rows of cars that have camped overnight , good luck with that one

So, quick question, as I might be grabbing an last minute ticket from on here...

Does the run touch any motorways or just the A23? I'm, a learner and me and my dad might be coming along and obviously I'm not allowed on any motorways...

Finally, does it matter if we get there super early? What sort of time does the run start? ie: When do people start leaving Crystal Palace?

Thanks,

Cam.

Hi Cam, if you have a look at the link to the run booklet I put a few posts up, it has all the timings in it.  I am sure that if you use a satnav, that you can choose to avoid motorways?  Sorry not to have any advice that side of it, not familiar with the roads over that side of the country Im afraid.  Can your Dad not take over for the motorway part?  Enjoy the day, Im sure you will love it!

Thanks for the reply, it looks to me that I can follow the A23 straight down, or a couple of other routes. It certainly looks easily doable :) Looked in the booklet, 5am onwards.. I reckon I can get there for about 7:30am to 8:00am. I don't mind being at the back, I'm in no rush anyways. I'm just excited as it will be my first ever Mini event!

Also, I don't know how many people look in here but if anyone in the Colchester/Braintree or surrounding area is going down to Crystal Palace early on the Sunday, we could maybe "convoy"? But as I said, I need to avoid motorways.

Cam.

By 7:30 to 8:00 you'll be pretty much at the very back, which really isn't much fun. Getting 2000+ minis out of Crystal Palace one at a time literraly takes hours, so you'll probably still be there until late morning/lunch time, meaning you'll have all but missed the show at Brighton by the time you get there. That's likely to be pretty disappointing, especially if it's your first mini event and it's a tale we read here from many L2B first timers who then vowe never to do the run again.

If you're going to arrive at that time, then I'd seriously consider parking outside crystal palace, or in the public car park instead and walking in to collect your run pack. You'll still get to see all the minis lined up and to experience the crystal palace end, but when the run sets off you can just wander back to your car and set off in your own time, as opposed to being stood around waiting for 2-3 hours.

I remember that! Such a kind gesture of them and a great publicity stunt!

EDIT: Can't remember where either though -.-

as AVV IT said, if you are arriving on the Sunday morning, rock up in the car park next door, wander up the steps and see all the cars, then leave when YOU want too.
