Hi mate looking good. Is the rear quarter heritage or after market??
after market (all i could afford!) Managed to get all that lot for the same price as a genuine panel!
you can see the dreaded white label of magnum all over

Tell me about it look at my build and ur see the magnum boot floor panel I fitted yesterday took 2 of them and still not happy.
Will be good to see how the rear quarter goes as that's the next panels I have to buy and same as you would like heritage but aftermarket are cheaper.
Can't wait too see how they fit.
Will be keeping an eye on keep it up.
It will take a bit of time to get to panel fitting, still have rot to cut out. The other panels look ok, and the rear quarter was a third of the cost. i was on a tight budget before i found all the rot, so have to do this as cheaply as i can. the boot repair panel is awful, might keep it for spare metal, and get a genuine one instead, twice the cost, but hopefully will be a better fit!

Finally got round to dropping my subframe, only to find.... wait for it.... more rot. looks like the boot floor has rotted in the corners
Prodded the corners of the rear valance as well, ony to find them crumble away! Removed the valance last night, both closing panels are shot as well
I have ordered
Hopefully will get cracking this weekend!

No been up to much recently, all my panels have arrived. Spent last night scraping off the horrible e-coat on the magnum panels, and applying etch primer to them.

I have been slowly getting the boot repaired, didnt realise that a boot repair was quite a big job (in terms of prep and welding). I foolishly cut a bit too much out and spent a few evenings fixing my mistake and getting the panel to fit nicely.

i have been braving the cold and started getting my panels into place
The seat repair needs a bit more work, but it seemed to line up ok with the arch.
Mocked up the rear quarter and panel to make sure the arch was sitting in the right place (thanks sonikk4 for the suggestion). It looks like the arch is ok, and lines up well witht he front closing panel, the seat supports and seat repair panel. I am having a bit of issue at the back, though its due to the magnum valance closing panels are overlapping the arch too much? They have this lip on them, which the genuine ones seem not to have? weird. (ignore the rust behind -is the last section of rotten rear quarter)
its the same story on the other side (ignore the iddy looking arch, all the underseal burnt off when i was welding a repair section in!
My boot repair section did not fit at all - not even close. it just wouldnt follow the curve of the arch/shock mount. will have to fabricate something
Just a quick mock up, still need to do a bit of work on it
so the plan -
I need to remove the valance and closing panels, and ideally trim the closing panels to remove the lips. the rear valance seemed to line up with the outer bumper holes but the middle one was out by 10mm, throuwing off the whole valance. i will try and force it into position. after that i will get the closing panels bolted in, and weld to the valance. i will remove the whole thing and then paint/seal the insides of the closing panels. I will then refit the valance and weld! After that its fabricating a boot repair panel to suite the shape of the arch and weld into place.
done, simple as that!
