You can paint over carbon but you cant bake it at high temp it has to dry natural thats the main problem

saying you cant bake carbon... what about factory carbon cars? Factory carbon cars are indeed baked.

I work in a car factory that deal with carbon bodied cars, they deffinatly bake the paint as its part of the production line, there no space to store a body while it air drys!

Sorry I get u now yes in a factor they bake otherwise make no money as the car would be waiting for drying common sense but im certain factories baking temperature is lower and more longer than normal gas/oil oven which bake around 70 degrees I only research this when I done my first cf part primed flated and etc put top coat on then clear coated and baked with alot of other stuff took it out and look like load of holes and was told that what you get when extreme heat to bake

Thanks for the help guys. I think I'm going to cough up and get a new roof skin rather than risk putting a panel in. I think the carbon roof brings a few saftey issues that I'd rather avoid as I'm not a fan of roll cages.

As before, once the screens are out and the head lining is removed it is a reasonably easy job. That's assuming you have an angle grinder and a MIG welding kit.
