Yeah wasn't sure as I know it's pretty expensive. So you know what I pose another question to you, keep standard bore size of 1275 and get head mods or do the rebore to 1293 and maybe get head mods later down the road? as at the moment I am trying to do it on a college McDonald's budget

There's no real gains to 1293 over 1275, the only reason to overbore to 1293 is because the bores are knackered. If the 1275 is good then just stick with it. Head is the key to this engine but as said it's not cheap

An improved head is the key to all power & torque improvements with the A-series engine.

Okay so if my bores are okay and I get away with maybe just a hone then what work would you suggest head wise?

Is your engine out and apart? Is it burning oil?

If it's out and in bits, have the bores checked and honed if needed, put your cam in….fit new rings and put it together…spend the saved coin on the head, exhaust, ignition and fuel/air

If it's all still together and not burning oil, fit a stage one equiv. kit, maybe better ignition etc. and save some coin for college.

I haven't even brought the engine yet, but have one lined up. My current 998 is burning oil and has covered 140,000 miles so though I'd give her an upgrade
