Pretty much as the title says, i will be painting Paddy hopefully later on next year so access to proper paint bay sorted but i want my own decent spray gun so folks what's out there that will give me a fighting chance of a decent finish.

I do have a chunk of change to spend on one so nothing cheap and nasty.

Quite a few on flea bay so looking favourite. Seeing as the car is going to be Teal Blue in 2K is a 1.2mm nozzle good or do i need smaller or larger.

We do have guns at work butttttttt i have seen some of the finishes and i think a lot is to do with the guns themselves so having my own means the onus is on me to look after it.

Mines a 1.4 and seems to work well with everything I've used it on.  It's also worth having several cheap guns as well for primer/bar coat etc and then save the good gun for best

That's where the works ones will come into their own there then Sean. I do know my mate Will the workshop manager has another good gun tucked away for a rainy day. All our stuff is used for spraying Aircraft paint.

The gti pro or pro lite are good guns, as for needle size look up on devilbiss website as many paint manufacturers list the recommended set ups on there but I would think 1.3 would be a good choice with a te20 aircap. I have a devilbiss sri pro mainly because I needed low air usage so I could run an airfed as well, added bonus is as it's a smaller gun the overspray is much less so ideal in home environment.

as daz says devilbiss sri pro exellent gun big enough to spray a mini i have the hd 1.2 for spraying laquer and 2k i have just sprayed my mini they dont use much air and you can run a airfed mask and the gun from a 15cfm compressor but you will need a bigger pot on the gun the little ones you get with the gun are not big enough to paint a mini with you can get them they are about £55

Cheers folks, no issue about air as we have dual compressors at work with serious CFM rating to cope not only with air usage in the hangar but also for a minimum of two air fed masks in the spray bay.

I shall do a bit more research into the guns mentioned and look at bigger pots as well.  :highfive:

If you have the air then a gti pro lite is very good, like I said I was restricted by air available and as most my work after the mini paint will be touch ups and max 1 panel respray so then a sri pro suited me better. I also bought a cheap kestral gun for primer although due to air I use my sri pro for 2k high build again due to air restriction.. The gunman videos on YouTube are good to watch

Hi im currently selling Devilbiss Gti Pro Lite guns for £240 delivered... they are in my humble opinion the best guns on the market, definately the best guns that Devilbiss sell anyway.

TE-10 aircap and a 1.3mm fluid tip perfect for any base/clear coat application, solvent or water based. The gun will still have the original devilbiss seal on the box never opened. Got them cheap through my college as we have a contract with devilbiss so thats why i can sell them at £240 and still make a little bit of money for myself!

the price im selling them at is cheaper than what the gti pro retails at, and this is the gti pro lite! whole new refined design on the gti pro and also weighs 60g less which really does make a difference when your spraying a whole car.

I use devilbiss and sata dont have a preference anymore was really devilbiss fan but then used a 4000 and loved that to
Most painters have different style of painting within tolerant
for gun set ups in tends to vary I recently used a 1.2 for clear coat it was ok but I like my 1.3 I even use a 1.4 for sometimes thats for solid color bases and direct glosses
Properly worth seeing anyone near you has a devilbiss or sata see what you prefer as they do feel different the devilbiss is better balanced that the sata but the sata I think has a slightly better design on the body in my opinion
