Hello got my mini back from the rolling road to day and is a vast improvement from previous builds revs a lot easier and engine runs a lot smoother .

was just after some info as from what i can make from the print out my mini is making 43bhp corrected power and 25 wheel power. is this good for a 998? and is the difference between engine and wheel BHP a lot for a mini? or could there be something wrong lowering my wheel Bhp ?

The guy was relatively happy with the engine and compression.

or i could just be paying attention to the wrong figures :shy: .

998 mini/maniflow exhaust/ air filter/ new coil/electric ignition

Thanks

as a comparison a 998 i had on RR had 48.5 bhp corrected engine bhp, with 26.5 bhp at the wheels losing 21.5 bhp. so that is comparable and less than i had, my 1275 is losing 25.5 bhp though im not sure why it loses more.

Thanks 89 mini flame! was my first rolling road day so good to have something to compare to  Appreciated .

just seemed like a lot compered to other cars though its probably expected oo older low bhp engines. still happy with the engine Bhp any way  :teehee:

With old classic cars, unless they are to be used in serious competition the bhp figures are largely pointless.

Just get the engine set up to run as well as possible and enjoy the 'retro' 1960's driving experience.

The transmission loss can be high on the mini and things like the tyre pressures can effect things.

The only comparison I have is for a 998 std low compression engine

33BHP Flywheel

24BHP At the Wheels

Making big HP with a mini can be hard... everything needs to be working well together..

torque was 79 at 4000

at slarks dyno

so made good at the wheels not losing heaps
