Thanks to all above, like I said, needed a little guidance on it, but its better now than before. My first weld was a little crude, but with more "Penetration" (Hehehehehe)
I am getting better :) Practise makes perfect!
So the next task..... and question.... How do I strengthen up aluminium wings when they are crudely built in 3 sections? I'm thinking of covering them in 2mm steel sheet to get the right shape, and so I can then weld the edges to box section on the new wing frame. I don't want to start from scratch as well, They would look even worse!
The steel would be riveted onto the aluminium, mainly to strengthen the 3 sections of the wing already there, then undersealed where necessary and then painted. Does that sound realistic?
