That website has so many cool things on it! D: I like the heated seats, I guess it wouldn't be too hard to put them into the chairs, instead of on top....

Electric opening rear windows controlled off a switch on the steering column.

YES! I hadn't even thought about that. But, given the way the windows open, it would be quite difficult to do neatly I would think.

BMW Compacts have this.

I'll do some research BRB

A friend of mine has done it to his mpi. Think he used motors out of a VW Sharon people carrier. He is a sparky by trade so kinda knew what to do

I try to keep my Mini as original as possible - lack of comfort inclusive :proud:.

What we did, however, is add a cigarette lighter plug - to connect a satnav. And I am thinking of a "headlights on warning signal" and some kind of theft protection ...

Easily done with a 12v buzzer or some kind wire with the positive into the sidelight circuit and the negative to one of the door switches.

And a fake alarm led can easily be wired with the positive side to a permanent 12v feed and the negative to a switch 12v feed, which will allow the led to only flash with the ignition off and not blow as you'd assume with 2 lives.

The late 90s Renault Megane Coupe (phase 1) also has the electric rear opening windows.  The mechanism is a bit chunky, but it opens the right amount for a Mini and it's a conversion I was thinking of doing.

I considered aftermarket heaters when I did my engine conversion, this was one of the contenders:

Any more updates on the cup holders? :P And with regards to the water deflection, would you say G5 is a good product?

I've been looking in to better heaters, this one has some good reviews and is my latest number one: http://www.t7design....products_id=192

Haven't tried any other rain repellant products yet but the aero wipers are great in all this rain! Considering some wind defectors now as would be handy with demisting.

Just put some metro seats in and they are a great upgrade aswell :)

I've just read though most of this thread, some really great ideas out there for sure.

While I do appriciate a completely stock standard Mini (and I do have a few like that), I also see them as an almost blank sheet of canvas waiting for an artist's touch, keeping in mind that some paintings are damn awesome and some you wouldn't even give to your mother-in-law for from a Chritsmas Present!

Cricky, over the years, I've done lots of different things to them, some things that spring to mind;-

Electric Windows (no mean feat in an Aust Mini for which no kits are available),

   Central Key-less Locking,

Boot light that comes on automatically,

Under-door Lighting, so at night you can see that mud puddle just as you put your foot in it anyway,

'Lite touch' Heater controls, which did away with the mechanical cables, you can operate it with just your pinky!

Long Range Fuel tanks (really long range)

   GPS

Yes, Cup Holders!  I thought these were a crap idea years ago, but since trying them, I wouldn't be without them. I just get the ones from the boat shops.

Short Shift gear sticks, but extended to bring the knob up closer to the steering wheel - yeap, looks weird for sure but bloody awsome to drive with,

Rear Wheel Disc Brakes (only to eliminate the need for adjustment and a better hand brake)

And - Cruse Control. I have this currently in many of the cars, I fitted my first back about 1984 and never looked back, though some of these have been tricky to sort
