I've been thinking about fitting a interior light delay so the light stays on for a few seconds after the door closes.

Like this.

Im liking this idea! Added it to my watch list, for when i go back and redo the footwell lights :) Planning on upgrading my fuses to the blade type soon as well due to having alot of problems with them recently but will do that when I get around to un bodging my front wiring loom!

I wouldn't bother with converting to blade type fuses, as it opens up a huge can of worms with the fuse ratings being different.

The standard glass 4 fuse type box is reliable enough, providing it and the wiring connectors are kept clean and corrosion free.

If you want cup holders, then perhaps consider an R56 centre console.

I recon that would fit with little fuss.

Ive never felt the need for cupholders, only when i go kfc and then i just get someone else to hold it for me or wedge it in the dash :L But looking at that, i think it would look good!

Since hook type wipers are going for sily money, might help saying that you can buy land rover wiper arms and use them with proper blades, highly reccomendable.

Ie these

http://www.ebay.co.u...-/160910160971?

http://www.ebay.co.u...m/150934582082?

Jaydee, can you please enlighten.. I have absolutely no idea what a 'hook' type wiper is, but looking at the landrover ones, they look to have a 'hook' at the end..?

Although the std. wipers are reasonable in performance, any 'cheap' way of getting better wiper performancer is going to be great.

So then? I buy a pair of landrover arms and then use Landrover blades. This I assume is all there is to it.? The spline connection is exactly the same from the motor?

thanks for enlightening me

Minis up to a certain point in the late 80ies were equipped with smaller arms with a flat type arrangment for the blade.

Later minis do have the stronger hook type arms, but on many of these were replaced with the old type because of the look.

Since its ages that you cant find decent blades for the flat arms, by fitting hook type arms you can fit better blades that actually clean the screen instead of spreading the water across it.

I've also found wiper blades with adaptors to suit the old type arms, but they're not so easy to find and aestetically just look wrong.

Ok this might be a stupid question but could you fit cruise control to a Mini, I'm guessing you would have to fix/replace the ECU but would it even be possible?

I have no interest in fitting one by the way, its just one of those random questions that popped into my head, although I would quite like to add it to my Landy to use when I'm towing.

An old bloke is used to know made his own cruise control on his sierra estate using a lawn mower throttle.  O_O

I told him my concerns but he ignored me and used it anyway.

I defiantly wouldn't recommend it

You can get cruise control kits for carb and injection cars, which are properly designed and have all the safety features you should have - its something I will be adding to mine! They are available in the uk but I'm told they are considerably cheaper in the states

Yanks love cruise control!

I have had cruise on a couple of cars in the past but never felt the need to use it but i can see where it would be useful

Yep not a problem... I even did a lot of work, finding a supplier for the kit, sorting out the brackets, but then Guessworks took off in a big way and never got chance to finish the work off...

But you buy a universal cruise control kit ( usually from the US ) which works of the manifold vacuum to maintain the throttle position... plus an electrical control unit.. Will work on carb or injection.

If your Landy is a Turbo Diesel, then you tap into the vacuum pump for the servo as your source, however, if your Landy is a fly by wire then it's usually only the switch which is missing from the vehicle ( my Discovery 2 was like this, just need to add the switch )
