Decent brakes instead of drums and elcetronic ignition makes a world of difference. Oh and a ciggy lighter for the phone charger.

Would recommend a good tune up and agree with fixing/ modifying the heater to work better especially on the windscreen save wiping it constantly in winter!.

  • a set of cup holders preferably push release ones can mount under CD player for ease.
  • some new dash light builbs/ Led's its a good change makes everything brighter and clearer. looks smart.
  • other than that you might want a decent pair off speakers

a light reminder beeper thingy if you leave your lights on, saved me a couple of times.

Later style seats with extended seat brackets if you're tall or seats from a different car

SEATBETLS!!! Just because they aren't compulsary on some cars they should always be fitted, front and rear. They save lives.

This poor lady, who died whilst driving to a Ford show was followed by her husband. He was sure that if the car had seatbelts, she'd still be alive today.

Another thing is fog lights, make a big difference in the winter :)

Third brake light is another one I want to do! Just trying to find a retro look one

Really good ideas and some I hadn't thought of! Glad this has had so much interest as it can help others that are using minis as daily's as well :)

Running lights are something I've been thinking about for a while, what are those light units Iain?  They look like the biz.

These DRL's have built in indicators as well, to match the original clubman sidelight/indicator combination. I don't recommended these particular ones though because when you use the indicators with the DRL's on, they're near impossible to see...

So unless you fit a resistor of some description to cancel out the DRL when the indicator is switched on, you can't see them haha.

But I do have my eye on another set on eBay (Which is where my ones came from) which have the cancelling function built in, like modern DRL/Indicator combos.

I've put daytime running lights on my clubby front, I've also done little bits and bobs to try keep the same look but with a modern touch...

Where did you get those guages they are awesome !

The gauges are also from eBay, gotta' love the bay! haha.

I liked these ones, because unlike all the other 52mm gauges on eBay, these don't have naff logos plastered all over them. Logos that normal say something like 'Type R' or 'Drift king'... *face palm*

I fitted a heated front screen in mine, godsend in winter...
3rd brake light
Le man's cobra seats to save my back
Cigarette lighter
Decent radio
Had HiD's but after a year grew to dislike them so fitted halogen lights instead.
Also fitted an aux fan but as of yet never needed it.
And aero wipers, million times better in the rain.

Aero wipers are brilliant in rain when you're travelling fast as the wind pushes down on them more than standard blades.

Don't know if it has been mentioned, but wind deflectors. They are brilliant because you can have the window open in the rain and you don't get wet. You get a nicer stream of air in the car too.

I've been thinking about fitting a interior light delay so the light stays on for a few seconds after the door closes.

Like this.
