Hi, anyone got any experience or advice re these please? The flexi joint on my MPI's exhaust is frayed (from catching on speed bumps I think). Although it's not blowing, I was thinking of using an exhaust bandage or something to try and prolong its life. Any recommendations please? Cheers.

Avoid the pot holes! you will struggle with a bandage mate.

Waste of time, the exhaust gas pressure tends to just blow through it after a very short time as they set rigid.
If the rest of it is okay you can buy flex sections to weld in - see Bay of E

You say its frayed? Do you mean just the braided wire part? If so then remember that just covers the flexible part which is like a concertina shape of steel. The frayed cover doesn't matter, as long as the flexi concertina part is not blowing. Is the exhaust actually blowing or are you going on a visual inspection?

the maniflow type are better with the elbow/knuckle with the spring, much like the turbo down pipes.

Yes it's just the braided wire part and isn't blowing, just visual inspection so I'll leave it until it blows then...!! Could Jordie please advise where to get the manifold spring type? Cheers.

I am sure maniflow sell them

i think its... http://www.maniflow....55&product=1115

Dont quote me on that, never owned a spi/mpi mini. They are alot more solid, so dont get damaged from speedhumps etc and cause the blowing.

Ah, good. I just gave mine a hair cut to tidy it up visually when that happened, it is still on the car (thought the car is off the road now) and stil intact years later.

Wood and Pickett sell replacement downpipes which are easy to change and pretty cheap too. Mine lasted fine until I replaced mine with an LCB
