Tried out my new 2mm cap and needle and it's putting on the primer a lot better, I'm able to mix the primer/thinner to 60/40 and still get it out the gun no problem. Along with a primer/sealer that I found locally that agrees with celly and I thought my problems are all sorted. Nah that's no happening! Did first coat of hopefully three and quickly checked things to see the bead of sealer at the front wing and scuttle join have a reaction!! First time anything has flared up there! A cup o tea and a calm down was required, goin back out to do a spot repair now, I will be so happy once this bloody thing is in colour!!

Spraying colour today. All good until the spray gun dripped on the wing. Will get it finished and rectify the drop again I think

My gravity gun had this problem when I first used it. Mad sure the lid was firmly screwed on and the little breather on the lid was firmly in place. I've also added a short bit of pipe onto the breather pipe to ensure any paint can't run out when the cup is full and I'm doing the roof. Bloody annoying when it happens! Think I've gotten to the root of my problems, I've been using standard thinner in my primer and this has proved to be too strong for existing primer that'son the car already, softening it and causing the reactions. Ordered recommend thinner for the Upol primer today and will try it next week, fingers crossed!!

My paint has dried like a matt finish. Is this normal. I put on 5 coats and then one coat with 75percent thinners.

If its ended up flat it may have bloomed if the air temps too low. This time of year its best to use anti bloom thinners, I dont know if you did. You normally need to flat back with wet & dry then buff back anyway so its not a problem. Celly usually always needs flatting back and buff polishing anyway.

Trying to upload a picture but the files are to big. Just rubbed my finger over the surface and it feels slightly rough but there is now some shine. No runs or orange peel. Hopefully it will come with jus a good cut and polish. I put a dust coat on then I put on 5 good coats.

Yes, it does appear dull until the top surface of thinners begins to evaporate. 75% thinners may take longer for the shine to show. Cutting and polishing is normally inevitable though. Be very careful when flatting back corners and tight radiuses where the paint is thinner. It looks good. Well done you :)

Not to bothered if it isnt 100%. The money I have saved by doing it myself means that I can get my mpi seats recovered in black and cream now.
