Fiat have announced their compact SUV answer to the MINI Countryman.......the Fiat 500X will arrive in the UK in spring next year and like the Countryman will be available in both front- and four-wheel drive versions, petrol and diesel. All 4WD 500Xs are fitted with a nine-speed auto that sends full power to the front wheels alone during normal driving. An electronic locking differental seamlessly engages the rear axle when drive is required from the back end

The rear tailights and wheel arch styling looks very similar to the new F56 Mk3 MINI

It reminds of an old Micra? Why didn't they use a 500L/MPW type style body, they wasted space at the back with that curved ar*e thing that small suv's seem to have since the Nissan Cashcow and Puke came out.

I think an Abarth version would look pretty good.

I don't do crossovers though, utterly pointless cars.

It's amazing how much fiat copy mini (and I'm sure visa versa) but the 500 XL looks like it was drawn by someone over the phone to another person who was trying to describe what a countryman looked like

Well it's marginally better than the 500L & 500 L MPW. As I think these are the ugliest things on the road today.

Perhaps, but the 500L and 'MPW are function over form, the 500X is the reverse.

I actually like it, similar styling to Audi Q3?

Fiat have got design spectacularly wrong in the past though, 1st generation of the modern Multipla anyone? Enough to frighten children!
