Hey All,

 

With all the recent changes with car tax etc I have managed to get hold of a copy of the original tax disc (Thanks to Transit Fred) for my mini,

 

Im just adding some of the info onto the disc to fill it out a bit but missing one thing, the price.

 

Any ideas where I can find out how much the car tax would of been for the 1st 6 months?

I remember paying £50.00 car tax in 1977 for my first mini, my weekly wage in 1977 was £15.00 in cash so £1.00 a week payed for my tax.

My insurance was £ 75.00 third party fire and theft ( we all used to insure that way as fully comprehensive was out of reach ), you also got a cover note before you paid the premium which was really good as you could drive insured on it then wait until two days before it ran out then change insurers.

The insurance companies got wise to this and eventually stopped it.
