This is a Schmitt, which is a French interpretation of the Mini Moke, the one in photo above had Belgian plates and was seen at this years IMM in Kent parked up with the Mokes.

I have only ever seen them on holiday around the Mediteranean coast in the South of France. I took the photos below near Saint Tropez in the early 1980's when I drove the brand new yellow Metro seen parked in the background down from the UK to the mediteranean coast for a holiday, It was a hire car as at the time I did not trust my 1972 Mini to make the long trip there and back !
