In that case I'll try and get some wire soon-ish, and wire it with a switch.

other way around...
on a std Mini, the fan Sucks the hot air, onto the enigne....
on a Aux fan, it blow the hot air onto the enigne....
Reason it pushes/sucks air onto the hot engine... is theres no point in sucking/blowing hot air from the enigne though a hot rad...
Pardon ? A mechanically-driven fan blows air through the rad, towards the wing. Surely if an aux fan is fitted wing-side of the rad then it must pull the air through, in order to assist the mechanical fan. Otherwise they'll be working against each other. I'm aiming to fit an aux fan and have seen some clamped to the engine side of the rad as opposed to the wing side. Presumably these replace the existing fan (though goodness knows how they fit it in!)

Why dig up a fairly old thread that no-one is reading any more just to disagree with a misguided post that's already been corrected many times?
Sorry. I'm new to the forum. I searched for topics on elec fans and that's what I found. To my knowledge it hadn't been "corrected many times" and since I was confused I posted for confirmation.

Almost everyone on the board had a pop at Dogmatix after he wrote that, it's all on page two of the thread!
Welcome, and don't be afraid to start a new thread of your own with questions just 'because you're new matey. Glad you searched a bit though, most people don't bother.

Aha! Just spotted the "page 1,2,3" bit at the bottom of the screen! Ta. On a different note, just done a timing check on my mini for the first time (don't laugh), and feeling quite proud of myself as a result !
