Hi,

I'm new to the Mini thing so I apologise if the answer is here already somewhere.

I have a 1989 Mini City with a Verto (?) clutch. It needs replacing as it is contaminated with oil as I seem to have blown the flywheel oil seal. If I take the car to a garage how long should it take them to replace the seal and clutch? I will be supplying the parts.

Thanks for your help,

Steve.

For a garage to do it, it'll probly take a day but should take no longer than around 3 hours of labour time.

A garage will charge about 4 hours time at, say £50 per hour, plus parts. A clutch plate, retail, is about £25.
It's not too difficult to do yourself. All you need are some decent tools, a flywheel puller and a trolley-jack. The labour charge would more than pay for the tools and, depending on where you live, I'm sure someone with 'the knowledge' would call round to advise.

Cheers for the help. I already have the clutch (I hope-see new thread) and a local garage will do the job for £20p/h.

Steve.
