Can't see any on mini spares pages. Anyone know of any? Or what size they are?

Or shall I just knock them out and see?

Don't think they've ever been available as a seperate part - normally the hinge wears long before the pin is knackered!

I think you'll need to be knocking them out if you need to know.

There was somebody recently who tapped a thread in the hinge and then used a bolt. Cant find the damned thread though.

I've assumed we're talking mk3 onwards hinges?
Will an R clip fit? The diameter and length it would need to be would mean the 'R' part would be huge?
I bolt with a short length of thread under the head and then a wasted stem the right size would be quite neat. Although just a headed pin would probably work - they won't come out in a hurry.

I got some from eBay, fitted them and they didn't solve the issue.

As above, the hinge wears too

Interesting comment.

Have just knocked out the pin of the one I have issues with and also drilled it a broken stud that had snapped ready for replacing with a bolt.

Not hard to do.

I used a hydraulic press & oxy propane to heat it up, the pin (eventually) came out, but the hinge itself was too worn to take a replacement pin and I didn't fancy reaming it all out to the next size, or bushing it.

I think their £15 each, not worth the bother.

When I drilled out a hinge the biggest headache was the drill bits grabbing the hinge as it was being drilled, I used progressively larger bits until I got to the required size. Also I could've done with a mains drill, I used a battery drill and nearly killed it! The result was ok and was obviously cheaper than new ones.

Mmm just been to look at alternative to pins. Not going to bother. Will either replace with new hinges or add a brass washer to take out the play on the bearing surface.
