And blocking off the air vert holes.
Put the rear beam in to check clearance.

Some reinforcement to the subframe.
Attached File  image.jpg   91.93K   33 downloads
Finished of the seat mounts.

And then there is the issue of the rest wheel arches.

As I don't want to burn the paint off again.

Today was interesting.

As I am flattening the bottom of the car if I needed to make some form of brackets that will take the "floor"

First part went well.
Attached File  image.jpg   76.33K   54 downloads
Then just layer the rods that will make the "floor".
Attached File  image.jpg   102.24K   48 downloads
Then thought I had better check the frame still fits the shell.

Mmmm I might have a problem here.

Right today was refitting the subframe drinking tea, grinding and welding.

Dropped the old front part on and had some Tea.

Well today was a day of sorting out a few little things. One thing that I have seen is people struggling with top arm bearing replacement with some really odd suggestions including welding bit to the bearing. I guess this is because people have not cleaned out the old grease first. There is loads of room to get a drift behind the inner face and knock them out.
I use a slightly shaped drift.

Finished off the front subframe. Of to the blasters next week.

Are you not lightening the front subframe any? There's a fair chunk of material you can remove and still retain the strength!

That's all looking great, it's such an interesting build. I'll be trying to drift out my top arm bearings after a thoughrough decrease.
That prurple carpet is pure sex by the way.

note the shape of the tool. it is not a bad photo it is shaped like that and grind a flat end too it.

less likely to slip. also on the side with the grease nipple take care that you dont hit it or the hole it is in as they are at about that distance.
