i did not take this picture for any reason but looking at it now that might just be a crack
0RSbPaT.jpg

needs a closer look.

That does look like a crack.
I found a similar crack in my Longman GT15 head when I rebuilt the engine a few years ago.

I'd be interested to find out if yours is salvagable, I was told mine wasn't, but yours does appear to have a little more meat between the seats than mine.

nah. not going anywhere it is CDS tube 38mm and a good wall thickness. way way stiffer than the OE stuff and what i had before. (read roll cage tube that i had left over).

not much happened today, routed the new pull cables for the red thing then i had a delivery was surprised at how big it was.

should have read the specs better. just read 25 pieces not the sizes

VAUUqQG.jpg

and some stubbies as they were cheap

cCpy9lN.jpg

then i started on the gearbox build but did not get to far as there is no info as to where this washer/spacer fits. there is a 50/50 chance of it going in the right place but i am not taking the risk.

then i spwnt a few hours looking for the steering wheel nut. it is somewhere safe but not where i have looked or it has been thrown out.....

box together just waiting on a few bits to finish it off.

the pinion support housing points to note.

the bottom right  mounting to the support has a different thread than the original so needs a replacement stud/bolt original casting was UNC and the support is UNF

also will not work with a lower steady.
