No bypass in the remote head.
as there was thread there on the other side. Drilled through with a pitot and just decided to run the thread though. It is the next size up from original.
my issue was losing synchro teeth. Did not have pump issues on the Metro or swarf issues. JKD dog box.
and. Now it will be easier to strip and replace bearings and pump with the plans I have.

Ok this is going to get expensive.
luckily I have a work trip to the UK so I can save on postage.
might even change the block. It depends on how it hones up.
finding engine machine shops, that is to say one that does everything rather than farm it out, is hard.
oh well more tools and plastic bags as the garage ain’t air tight so dust gets blown about.
but engine can wait. So it will be steering this weekend I hope.

continued with sorting out the block,
extended the depth of the threads in the block for the studs not by much but enough.
first took the plug tap down through to clean out cut bottom threads.
then dropped a drill in and then cut another thread or 2.
then onto the other side for the bigger box mounting bolts. one will need a trim to allow easier fitting due to it being a remote box.
also inspected all the other parts
