Well I spent most of the weekend on my back under the car. Working out how things might go together.

Had to get it off the trailer as I need to get access under it so some side shots.



Then I needed to get it on the ramps.

Scrounged some old hinges of a mate. Knocked pins out. Took the paint off. And gave then a sort. One is a bit more corroded than the other but they will look ok with a bit more work.

Rather than the pin and split pin, why don't you file away the bottom half of the top hinge around the hole, so it slots on the original pin, but when open at a larger angle can allow the lid the be simply pulled off?

Like that idea. Won't use the old pins though will fit some other fittings I have.
