I've just graduated from uni of Hudds and saw a pic of this a few years ago with it in the auto lab next to the wind tunnel. Asked my lecturers in the Engineering department about it but unfortunately none of them knew anything.

Damn I need to explain how I got money from the Uni.

Long story short.

Was always involved in motor sport. Ended up well involved with the Uni Motorsports club.

Heard about a new auto engineering degree they were starting.

Thought mmm might like to do some modules to add to my knowledge.

Ended up talking my way onto the course 2 weeks after it had started.

In my last year I needed a place to store the car.... We came to an agreement with the Uni, I would have the Uni info on it and I would promote the Uni and hand out (have a leaflet stand) at events, shows and races. I also had a chat with potential students as they were show around the dept.

But the main thing was the car was the basis for my final year project. And a few other people's as well.

ok next some electrics.

the wiper motor stopped working some time in the 80s so that needs to come off for an overhaul and then there is the lack of power to the starter solenoid.

so remove the fuse box to gain access to the bolts to release the wiper box and i think i have spotted the issue with the other electrics.

not a big issue as there are only 4 things that need power.

What will be interesting for me will be this.

When I first built it I had not the best of facilities. And just about zero disposable income. But knew lots of places that made stuff.

I now have a very suitable place and some disposable income but know no one and don't speak the language.

But there is a good Mini club and a few nutters that will be pointing me in the correct directions.

found this pic.

ikea style roll cage.

had issues stripping the IDA so need to order new aux venturi

biggest issue is IDing what size they are. so a quick mail to a helpfull retailer and i have the info.

and found the marks. the sizes are 2.5 or 3.5 or 4.5

Attached File  10710951_10152512289033171_6462197624883719852_n.jpg   37.41K   17 downloads

as can be seen they are 4.5s and the mark is just below the orientation  "ring".

so time to get service kit and new venturi ordered.
