Is there a suggested online store where the Tahiti blue can be purchased?  Many Thanks

Any half decent paint shop should be able to mix you up some.

Make sure you get the correct Tahiti blue, there was a '70s solid colour and the later '90s pearlescent (Had both colours on very different minis 2 x 1976 Mini 1000s and a 1998 Cooper Sportspack)

Thanks.  I failed to to offer specific information that is the reason for my asking.   I'm in the USA.  I tried a local auto paint store, but unlucky.  I want to make sure I get the exact Tahiti blue used over in the UK.  Therefore I will attempt to purchase a small amount, ship it and have see how well my local stores can colour match.    Would love to know of an online UK store.  then too, I have seen people talk about "Pearlized Tahiti Blue" and "Metallic Tahiti Blue"  Is there a difference?  Again, any suggestions on where to  purchase?  Thanks again...

Metallic Tahiti Blue and Pearlescent Tahiti Blue are indeed different colours. The early Tahiti Blue is a different colour altogether. If you look at my project thread, the photos towards the end are Pearl Tahiti Blue.

Ah yes..  it was you HarrysMini, where I saw the Pearlized Tahiti Blue..   I absolutely LOVE your choice of colors.  In fact I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to copy you with the Platinum Silver elsewhere.  Since I'm in the USA, I figure no foul.  It is still hard for me to see the difference between Pearlized and Metallic..   I will try to pull up Petrol's Metaliic while I have your page open...

Then too. If I can't find a place that ships to the US, I may be on the lookout for an equivalent

The roof does look silver but it is actually Ford Magnum Grey (possibly easier to find in the States), which is similar to Anthracite.

Ok mates.. you are making me drool with envy on this Pearlized Tahiti Blue..  I've called several placed over here and they don't know how to handle my request when I ask for a Rover Tahiti Blue or any Tahiti Blue.   They all ask for a paint code.  Does anyone have a paint code from their tins or cans?  Then too, I've done a google.uk search only to come up empty on the Pearlized part.

Yes HarrysMini, I am not worried about the Silver as I believe I can find an acceptable Silver over here.  It's the Tahiti I'm having challenges with.

The PEARL paint code comes up as JRJ (just been to my garage... Thats the correct code)

Hope this helps, bear in mind you need a coloured undercoat

This helped to a degree...  one shop was able to pull up the JRJ, but had no reference to the following numbers.  The JRJ came up to a Tahiti Mica (sp?)  While I"m closer, I believe the only safe bet is to find this Pearlized Tahiti over there and color match over here.

Cal844..   From reading other restoration projects, I see that they have used a sold blue undercoat.  Does it really matter what color the undercoat is in order for the Pearlized Tahiti to pop so vibrantly?

Why do you need a coloured undercoat? My Tahiti has a grey undercoat and under it original paint only had a normal grey/beige type undercoat.

I will check my vin plate tomorrow and see what paint code my Tahiti has on it.
