Just about to buy a fully balanced Verto and clutch assembly from MED but then thought - is my crank balanced to my old flywheel setup?
The crank does have markings on it where it has had material removed but I'm just concerned that swapping over to the new assembly will put things out of balance.
I have the old lightened cast flywheel, but this has the inertia starter ring so I decided to upgrade my flywheel now (which I was planning to do in the future anyway) rather than later when the engines in the car instead of adjusting the starter wiring.
Would my whole assembly have been balanced at the same time, is there anyway of telling?
Would the new setup throw it out?
I have ran the engine before with the old flywheel assembly and didn't notice any vibrations even when up at 6500rpm (286 cam).
Ps. the engine is fully assembled, with the flywheel, clutch etc... the only things left to go on.
Thanks in advance,
Ian

Normally all the parts will be balanced individually for this reason. And if each part is balanced when you bolt them together the assembly will be balanced.
I've just sent my rotating assembly to MED and they explained this to me. I would have thought fitting it will be fine.

The MED kit comes assembled and fully balanced as suggested above, I bought a pre-verto ultralight about a year ago great piece of kit you should have no problems.
