Just to let people know, studded and non-studded winter rubber is available at "Auto-Bmc.com" out of France. I would imagine that anyone living in a northern climate would like to have these. I sure would!

I have seen any available in the UK for ages.

Seen as you're in Canada I would look for a local rally (or maybe ice racing) club and builders. I'd expect most cold climate rally teams to have accesses to tyres studding gear.

The tires from Auto BMC actually come studded and studdable.

'Vintage Tyres' re-introduced the Dunlop SP44 "Weathermaster" 145R10 tyre recently. The classic aggressive pattern tyre was the original rally fitment for Mini Coopers, original equipment on many Mokes as a 10" diameter 'mud and snow' or rally tyre.

Are you even allowed studded tyres in the uk....from a legal point of view?

I too use maxsports (12" version) in the winter and they're great on snow....I only got stuck once i ran out of ride height and got beached!!!  I see Minisport have stated doing a new rally tyre but no photo on their website...next time someone goes up to Padiham, take a photo for me as i'd be interested to see what they look like.
