No going back now!

Everything is disconnected and the engine is ready to lift out.

some of it was a bit fiddly but i must say it was easy peasy.

It's taken me 2hrs 20 mins to get it ready.

Just the gearbox mount to come off now once i get the crane.

The donor car is coming in the morning so ill start the whole process again to get that ready. Big difference being i shall remove the front of the car to improve access.

Onwards and upwards

yup!

I'm surprised really. It looks as though the engine and box will lift out straight without any problems. Refitting should just be a case of bolt up engine mounts, reconnect wiring and hoses and pop fluids in.

And obviously driveshafts/gear selector/clutch cable

Not at the moment, it was only changed 8000 miles ago

This arrived at 8:30 this morning!

And this is obviously what i want from it.

So a few hours tinkering and it looks a right shambles!

It's virtually ready to come out now, just the driveshafts to disconnect. I have decided to leave the aux pumps on and the manifolds and turbo. I will need to take the manifolds off before i install the engine but at least i won't have to struggle with them twice.

Cheers mate!

I need to pick up a hoist tomorrow and get them out and swapped.

It was funny when i took the undertray out and bits of gearbox fell onto the ground! There is a whopping great hole in the gearbox casing.

I noticed that the donor car's gearbox is different to mine but the engine is the same so im sure it will be fine,

You don't hang about !

It's so much quicker when you don't have to worry about wrecking the car!

I ripped the front bumper off with my hands! lol I would have unscrewed the bolts but they were rusted and stuck and i was wasting time.

Just got to get the oomph to get back up and carry on now i have sat down.

Cheers

Ben

| kept going and managed to get the rest of everything off including the driveshafts, selector shaft, engine steady bar, the engine mount and gearbox mount.

It is just resting loosely on the subframe now so is ready to pull out tomorrow.

i did cut a corner though... I had to cut one of the starter motor wires as i just couldn't get in there to get the nut off but it don't matter as its on the loom from the scrap car.

So here it is all ready!

OohxlmV.jpg

And a boot full of everything removed

Only one problem i can see and that is this.

nE8wi4o.jpg

That is from the donor car, the fuel pump is the same but it had a little box that the one of the fuel pipes directs through and it has a wiring plug that goes to it.

My car doesn't have it so i am guessing i would just remove that part and use my fuel pipe setup on it??

Here is my pump setup

Ix2atuw.jpg

You can see that the return pipe piggybacks onto the fuel pipe instead of that wiring block thingy magigy...

Any thoughts good people??

Quick question.

The coolant that was in the car is thick and green and the coolant i have got to go in is thin and blue.

Should i go out and buy green instead or run the car with plain water to flush it out and then fill with the blue?

I'm sure i heard you can't mix types and colours..
