I think he's 'aving a larf'.

It is surely not a serious thing, more like something to laugh at.

It's his car, built to his own tastes, I like it, I think it's unreal, but even more importantly he likes it, that's all that matters!! :highfive:

Lowered and cambered is the "scene" in these times, if you don't like it, you don't like it and that's your choice, but a lot of people do...

But we are allowed to laugh at it as that is our choice. I suspect most people would laugh at it. I mean, they do look very funny :D .

As long as you don't mind them laughing at you driving around in your funny little old Mini!

It'd be a pretty boring world if we all liked exactly the same thing.  There's probably a lot of people out there that wonder why we bother spending thousands of quid on little old Minis to make them go faster, when we could spend that money on a modern little TDI hatchback that would be just as fast.

not round a roundabout or twisty B road! There are several little hatchback drivers who have found that out round here over the years.

I'm sure a lot of people laugh at an old man like me driving around in a 'full-on' international spec. historic rally car with over 100 bhp and SC gears, white door squares, sump guard & big lights. But it is still a car which is capable of being driven on the roads, unlike those strange lowered VW's and I can 'blow those VW's into the weeds' ;D .

For sure, you are!! But to many lowered and cambered is actually normal for lots of car guys these days...that's the point I'm trying to make

Yeah, exactly!! Quick Minis have way more character in their light bulbs than most cars have as a whole...they aren't just cars, I mean how many cars attract strangers to have lengthy conversations with you!? Not many...

Maybe, just maybe they've got different taste to you?  Maybe they're fine with not being able to go fast around corners and they do it because it's what they want to do?

As amusing as I find it to watch slammed cars try and get over speed bumps, I have to say that on classic VW's at least (I.e buses, campers and beetles etc) I much prefer the lowered look to standard ride height. On classic VDubs I thought it was supposed to be more about looks than performance & handling anyway, isn't that why they call it the "low & slow" look?

The thing people don't realise is you really can have it touching the floor and have a nice ride!

Lowering a mini can ruin it..

Lower you go with a VW the more cool it is by a factor of 10..

It's a classic case of,, if you have to ask you'll never understand..
