tut tut, I hope we aren't 'disliking' stuff, that's not allowed on this thread ;-) (and I am available for weddings, circumcisions and funerals for a fee :-) )

Matt that's an epic i-deer...the S85 V10 outta an e60 M5 fits in so there shouldn't be too much hassle getting the S54 into an e30!! Emphasis on the "Shouldn't"

I have a German Touring thing, it's an E46. I have no plans to slam it (apart from the rear hatch as the catch is a bit old). I thought about sticking bigger rims on it, but I can get branded super unfashionable high profile tyres for £50 each, and when you do 25,000 miles a year that saves a bit on the wallet and on the back/kidneys/fillings.

A nice tidy unmodified car, just the way it should be!

More like a dull reliable old hack that will be scrapped when it becomes uneconomic to repair, i.e. when anything really major goes wrong with it.

I don't think this thread was ever meant to offend anyone.

alot of the negative replies on here have had to do with the cars mentioned that look un-drivable or are unfit for purpose.

I personally cannot see the point in some of the suspension mods that make the wheels tip right over. It just doesn't interest me. I may have joined in with a bit of banter in this thread but nothing serious. It's just lighthearted as far as i can see.

We all like what we like and that's that. Only thing is, you tend to get a group that leans toward one thing and another that leans the other way and that usually causes conflict.

There really isn't any point in arguing the toss about it because not everyone is ever going to agree.

I just can't see the point getting hot under the collar about it.

Chris, you know i love your car, i think that it sits perfectly and chop, well that goes without saying. If your back wheels sat on their sides and the body work was all shreaded where it rubs, i probably wouldn't like it and i would say so but by no means would i deliberately insult you about it because it's your car and i can appreciate what work has gone into creating it.

I can't see the point in all falling out over a conflict that may never be resolved.

That is all i wanted to say.

Ben

Soooo, Im glad to have offended so many of you with my narrow minded opinions

I'll have to think of another minority group to have a go at next!

My post was not designed to offend or upset anyone. I dont mind lowered cars be they for performance or looks, its your car do with it what you will. As I said before, its the cars that are modified to the extent that they are dangerous, no suspension travel, wheels rubbing arches risking blow outs that I object to and think are totally ridiculous.

As well as being a mini fan I have also owned various VWs over the years - still got one, think they are brill cars so its not an anti VW post either.

Can it actually turn corners? Not for me either!

Yeah it was daily driven.

Is it American? If so, of course it can be driven, they only have straight roads, lol

Jap is the way forward! :D they're all so different and lots to look at, just loads better than vdubs - Low and slow copycat crap ^_^

Case in point the infamous, Mr.Jake Looney.

Now as well as Vw's and Minis, I've always been around Hondas in my life, I wouldn't call myself an out and out enthusiast although I have a soft spot for em'...anyways back on point, of all the civics, accords s2k's I've ever seen this is hands down the coolest Honda ever. Don't argue, it's the truth. YURT.

I'm sure a lot of use know the car and story, but for those who don't google it!! His car really did split opinions because of his NoneFvcks attitude haha!!

its already been mentioned but the mini scene really is full of people who think that if its not been done their way then its wrong and the driver is an idiot. in fact its probably the most judgemental 'scene' out there. makes me sick.

what happened to... you know... being a car enthusiast?

Think yourself lucky you don't own a BMW MINI. The worst lack of respect I have ever seen to a fellow "enthusiast" was from a Mini to a MINI. Personal choice and and opinion is one thing but the **** I have seen from fellow Mini peeps is disgusting .

As with most things said on a forum or discussion board, the context of the said post cannot always be determined. As such this will lead into conflict of opinions and much mud slinging. This ends up getting people nowhere in life.

So you like one thing and someone else doesn't. You shouldn't let it bother you. As mentioned previously by others , the world would be a tad boring if we all liked the same thing. For instance we have 2 MINIS in our household. You don't like ? I respect that. But I couldn't give a rats arse, especially if you drive a Poxhall Nova or a Shitron Paxo or similar car I don't like. I like it, that's all I need. Just as you like yours. There is even some  evilness among the Mini scene towards other Mini owners who modify their standard " rare " car.

Its down to respect, which unfortunately has been lost along the years. We live is a society of no repsect for other peoples property or other people for that matter.  Society breeds society, I cant see things changing soon..........

Yes, im old, grumpy and get annoyed by yoofs in cars that have been built using university grants ect. But........... I will happy watch them street race, I might even join them......

Lets face it, when im driving my mates "lowered" , "slammed"  Mk2 Golf with the brakes to match the power, I suddenly turn into a yoof myself.

Haters gonna hate...............
