Bravo!

That's a least 2 rants on here. Makes you feel better doesn't it Chris? I know I felt better....

Although I feel the draw across to the 'rod and custom scene is strong........

Good innovating stuff, but with more than a nod to the old skool.

*runs to the garage to see what I can cut up to make a real car.......*

For 'real' car, read 'something a little more individual that'll divide opinions, 'because after all, it's my car and more importantly, this is supposed to be fun!'

i would have like this but ive used up my daily quota haha...

your mini is one of the ones that helps restore my faith  ;D

i know what you mean, the hot/rat rod scene is so friendly and open, as is the euro and stance scene. literally anything goes,

so much truth in that quote too

Calm down lol..twas but a joke

I don't mind lowered cars as long as people don't lower performance cars...that's backwards to me.. Like when I said slamming a Gti or even a corsa Vxr
May as well just buy a 1.2 cause you will be going slow anyway

I love to see how low people can get them :P
What's that guys name with the mad rover 45 and now rover 75 estate...

I don't generalise people either by the car they drive...that's stupid

I've always thought that white thing above (mk1 golf?) was a piss take on stance/camber scene, as surely the dude didn't step back and think, "yeah, I like that". But I think he actually did >_<

have you seen some of the stuff the Japs do? There are Lexus's (Lexi?) that are far more extreme.

I don't think this thread was ever meant to offend anyone.

alot of the negative replies on here have had to do with the cars mentioned that look un-drivable or are unfit for purpose.

I personally cannot see the point in some of the suspension mods that make the wheels tip right over. It just doesn't interest me. I may have joined in with a bit of banter in this thread but nothing serious. It's just lighthearted as far as i can see.

We all like what we like and that's that. Only thing is, you tend to get a group that leans toward one thing and another that leans the other way and that usually causes conflict.

There really isn't any point in arguing the toss about it because not everyone is ever going to agree.

I just can't see the point getting hot under the collar about it.

Chris, you know i love your car, i think that it sits perfectly and chop, well that goes without saying. If your back wheels sat on their sides and the body work was all shreaded where it rubs, i probably wouldn't like it and i would say so but by no means would i deliberately insult you about it because it's your car and i can appreciate what work has gone into creating it.

I can't see the point in all falling out over a conflict that may never be resolved.

That is all i wanted to say.

Ben

The thing I love about Chop is the fact it looks so wide. I don't know if it's because the roof is bigger, or if it's just an illusion.

The purists probably don't like it, but from a bodywork point of view it is very well executed

i know, it just gets a bit tiring being made the butt of the joke ll the time lol

didnt mean to go off on one at only you mate, it was more aimed at the people who WERE generalising and pointlessly slating earlier on in this thread.

i just feel threads like this are set up purely to cause an argumenat, as there is no other possible outcome... the original post may as well have said; "hey guys! ive found a car culture that i personally dont like because its not to my taste, so here is why its wrong and anyone who disagrees is also wrong!"

Ben

Don't worry Ben, you haven't offended me. I'm just sick of people criticising stuff they either can't understand or are unable to do to their cars, even if they wanted to. Just small-mindedness or jealousy

Personally, while it's nice to hear positive stuff about your own car, you can rest assured that there will also be the haters. I built my car the way I wanted, to please myself- not for anyone else. If others appreciate it, then fine..... If not, it doesn't make much odds.

I recently turned up to a classic car meet where most of the vehicled there were fantastically restored vehicles worth 10000s..... 'Chop' was generally ignored, I heard later that a few owners were very negative towards it as I'd wrecked a classic car..... but hey, I think I've saved another one from the scrap heap.... It's all horses for courses.
