Will that door gap improve even with another door? Looks like the b post is moved in?

The door gap will still be a bit out, as the filler didn't completely rebuild the line (the actual B post is straight). The door in the picture hasn't actually got a catch on and it just held shut with duct tape. The door is also bent, so with a new door, it should be much better.
I rubbed the filler down as low as I dare, but if you look a few posts up, in the dent has a raised bit, and I didn't want to take too much off.

Did anyone ever tell you, you learn to drive once you pass your test?
Oh yeah, me, a couple of weeks ago.
If the odds hadn't been so poor I would've put money on this happening. Your attitude on the thread about insurance companies and black boxes suggested this was always on the cards. I'm just glad you didn't hurt anyone.
You can apologise to all the other young drivers for being another statistic
