Wow, quite a lot to update. I left off with having just fitted the rear parcel shelf cover.
Following on..
I then fitted the front and back glass along with the side glass, what a chore! My fingers hurt that day for sure! An obligitory beer was required for that millstone of achievement ....
I then painted my roll cage in willow green and then fitted it, boy was that a nightmare, had to wrestle it like a bear...
After that was completed and I recovered from my fight with the bear ( note, not as aggressive as the scene from Revenant with Leo DiCaprio) I turned my attention to the fuel tank, painted it black and gave it an obligatory buff to perfection
I then ordered my 10inch wheels and got them wrapped in the yokohama flavor of rubber, the tread is insane. They fit incredibly well
My mate then turned up in his red City E, same year as mine too, almost identical in style
more to come....

I then turned my attention to getting the engine running, it was a tough one as I knew nothing about engines and timing them! I had to read up a lot. got her going in the end
I hung the doors and fitted the glass along with the bullet mirrors. Its starting to come together..
I double checked my ball joints and brakes...
more to come....

Some outside shots of how she stands among my other cars
Got the wiper motor and linkage sorted and what a difference it makes to the engine bay!
I then fitted the group 5 race arches with rivnutts an allen bolts
Then went in the carpet, opted for black, two cans of spray glue was used
Made a start to the hidden wiring and also flush mounted the switch pannel
I then made my dashboard. It is 1mm thick steel that i chemical rusted and then lacquered. not everyones taste but i love it!
more to come...

I then fitted the bonnet pins and leather straps, i think it turned out well, it was sole destroying having to drill the new paint! A few random pics as well...
I then fitted some door circles, not sure on numbers, my mate held them on while i debated.
The car is now at my work car park ready to be brought round to the mechanic on Monday for a once over. Then book the MOT ( In Northern Ireland we have a dedicated MOT center, no mechanical work is carried out. You turn up, get an inspection and then either pass or fail) p.s. thats not my oil... its the work vans

love the "rusty" dash such a cool idea :)
Me too - especially the irony of someone adding rust into a Mini! :)

Yes indeed, that's what I was going for, a homage to the cars grass roots
gave the whole car a wet sand, compound and then polish today,
as gas monkey garage would say ' its shines like a diamond in a goats ass'
will add pics shortly.

You've really done a major job on this car and it's turned out terrific! I wasn't sure if I was going to like the Willow Green paint but I've come around to it now - it looks great! Well done......
