Small spade connection is the Ignition Warning Light, look for a thin Brown/yellow cable coming out the loom where the 2 Large Brown go onto the 2 large spade terminals

So it's for the earring light that comes on when the alternator stops charging

Its the wire which feed the 12v exciter circuit in the alternator, with out the wire it wont charge, it comes off the ignition light bulb, see the FAQs Electrical section, I have a post there explaining how the circuit works

Wait, what connector are you talking about? The small warning lamp terminal is inside the main socket. The separate small spade by itself is not. Some are for suppressors a and some are phase terminals. If there is a small square box on the back of the alternator boys that is a suppressor, if there is another individual spade connector it's phase and you must not connect to it.

Just answered this in a PM with the picture and the top small spade is a suppressor connection and as Dan pointed out and in my reply the warning light wire is a small Brown/yellow and is in the main plug with the 2 thicker Brown
