I guess this has been asked before, but I can't find it.

I'm about to attempt replacing my floor pan and boot floor, and I'll be plug welding along the seams.  Do you know how much of a gap I should have between each plug weld?

Obviously where I can I'll replicate what is already there, but some of the seams are unrecognisable now, and I know some seams have many more spot welds than others.  So I want to check I'm doing it right!

Thanks

Mikey

The original spot welds are approx 1" apart.. I normally do the plug welds about 20 - 25 mm apart.

Yep as quoted 1" spacing will be good.

That size of hole is not always feasible due to flange sizes etc. I normally drill mine at 1/4" and will go down to 3/16th on the smaller flanges.
