Hi,

This is my first post on here (though I've been on the site for a while) so take it easy on me, I'm a noob :P

1991 Cooper. Carb.

I've owned my mini for just over a year now and recently had a problem with the engine overheating. It's my daily driver, and I don't thrash him around or treat him badly. Anyway. Checked the water pump and thermostat. All apparently fine. Flushed the rad and it was still happening.

So I've taken the head off to get to the head gasket... No signs of any blows or breaks but I'm gonna replace it to be safe.

So the question is, do I replace part for part the TAM1521 gasket, or replace with a copper one? He's only used for road driving but I enjoy the odd bomb round the country roads ;) show my mates how to drive...

Thanks in advance!
Harry

Payen BK450 is the best gasket for the 1275 based engines, and the only thing I'd fit
