Jack the car up on one side and see how much free play you have in the raised wheel with the car in gear. You will soon know if this is a problem.

If there is a lot of free play, remove the engine & gearbox, take off the diff cover, remove the diff unit and look at the pin. If it is worn, fit a X-Pin diff and the problem is solved.

Fit a X-pin and never have to worry about the diff pin again.

What kills the diff pin is long final drives ( eg MPi's ) or lifting a driving wheel (wheelspin), so if you're into spirited driving then I would suggest an x-pin... it's a belt and braces replacement, but you must buy the correct type, too many times I've had to rebuild some cheaper x-pins which have come across my bench because substandard quality parts have been used, namely the pins, and they've worn and taken out the thrusts and planets too...

The moly pins are good, I use them as standard in my rebuilds and are fine for every day cars.
