Do you know what the duty cycle is all about on welder descriptions?   It states 100% @ 30A for example

As I've always understood it, the duty cycle is all to do with the rate at which heat can be radiated/convected away from the transformer. Once it becomes too hot the machine has to be allowed to cool to prevent damaging itself.

You would need to look for a machine that will hold a good duty cycle at say 50amps for car body panels

I've seen people fit additional cooling fans into the casings to improve cooling

This is identical to the power king welder i had only this is yellow instead of red.

I found it to be decent for the money and its turbo fan cooled which helps with the duty cycle.

It's perfectly adequate for welding your mini.

I didn't replace mine because it broke, i had a flood and it got badly damaged. Otherwise i would still have it and i'm sure it would still be working well

Just noticed that the welder is from the same place mine came from. The service was brilliant. I ordered it late afternoon on one day and it arrived first thing the next.

Also they missed out the wire feed roller so when i wrote to them about it, not only did they send the wire feed roller, they also sent more spare tips and another spare shroud.

Cheers Ben, thats less than I had budgeted for!  Was looking at much bigger welders, I take it I could change the regulator etc on that  to use a bigger bottle.

That welder comes with a small bore hose and a regulator to fit the disposable bottles but you can get the conversion kit for a modest price.

Hang on, ill hook out the link for you

This will do the job.

The small bore pipe simply pushes into the connector on the adaptor hose. To remove it, you just pull back the collar and it pulls out

I had a 90 amp SIP and it would weld for around 4 minutes, then take 10 minutes to cool down. With my Miller 150 amp it welds steel body panels on a setting of 2 (out of 5) indefinitely.
