I didn't think much of them when I drove one. I prefer my zetec s, it's only a 1.6, 100 odd bhp standard, but it's been decatted with some performance exhaust, has a piper cross panel filter and remapped. I enjoy driving it on country lanes, have to work it harder than an st. Plus it's a bit better on fuel and the gear ratios seem a bit better than the st. Although it still sits at 4k rpm at 80mph. And mines not as common as the st the diseasall zetec s's also go surprisingly well.

what you want is a mondeo st220, can pick one up for around 2k, and full leather, heated seats and all that jazz

I fancy a 5 series bmw diesel estate. Got to be diesel I've got the zafira dti at the moment for running around in, but as the turbo wastegate is plumbed straight into the vacuum pump, bypassing all the regulators and thus boosting all the time, I think I need to sell it fairly soon before it goes bang

what you want is a 1.2 3 cyl polo that fogs the screen up with some form of manifold/exhaust leak fumes that i've spent ages trying to trace haha.

 

gives you a banging headache and makes you sleepy unless the windows are open full
